Code of Conduct
PyData PyCon Yerevan is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form.
We believe that a diverse community is a strong community. This document outlines our expectations for participant behavior and the consequences for unacceptable behavior.
Expected Behavior
We expect all participants (attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers) to:
- Be kind and considerate: Treat others with respect and professional courtesy.
- Be inclusive: Use welcoming language and be mindful of people from different backgrounds and experience levels.
- Be respectful: Disagreements are part of a vibrant tech community, but they should be handled gracefully and without personal attacks.
- Support newcomers: Remember that everyone was a beginner once. Help foster a learning environment.
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are considered a violation of this Code of Conduct:
- Harassment, including offensive verbal comments related to personal characteristics.
- Sexual language and imagery in talks or anywhere in the conference venue (including sponsor booths).
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviors.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all conference-related spaces, including:
- The main venue and session rooms.
- Social events and dinners.
- Online platforms (Slack, social media using conference hashtags, and the conference website).
- Workshops and Sprints.
Reporting and Enforcement
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the conference staff immediately.
- In-Person: Staff members will be wearing clearly marked PyData PyCon Logo t-shirts/lanyards.
- Via Email: You can reach the Code of Conduct team privately at [email protected].
Consequences: If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:
- A formal warning to stop the behavior.
- Expulsion from the conference without a refund.
- Reporting the incident to the Python Software Foundation or local law enforcement if necessary.
